We're always keen to hear from coaches who want to help people stay consistent and see real progress — and who'd rather work somewhere that does things properly.
Studios in Kendal & Kirkby Stephen.
Dear Prospective Coach,
First of all, thanks for taking the time to read this. It's my genuine hope that you have exactly what we need — so we can take this page down and put you straight to work in the rewarding coaching role we've got available.
So let me tell you a bit about us, and about the role.
We run a small-group personal training and coaching studio called The Transformation Rooms, with studios in Kendal and Kirkby Stephen.
Our whole aim is to help people stay consistent and see real progress — not chase quick fixes. We do that through structured, coach-led sessions where members get genuine guidance, support, and accountability.
But more people need our help.
We're looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, and energetic coach to start working with our members. We run personal training and small-group coaching programmes that educate, motivate, and support local people to change their lives for good.
If you're hired, you'll start coaching members a few sessions a week — including evenings and early mornings — in a private, supportive studio environment with proper equipment and a real team around you.
You'll be treated fairly and compensated fairly, and if your efforts warrant it, we'll absolutely look at ways to reward you more. We want someone who enjoys working with people and making a difference in their lives — because that's what we do here.
What You'll Be Expected To Do
Build Personalised Programmes
You'll work from our coaching system, but you'll have the flexibility to bring your own knowledge and style. Every member starts with a proper plan built around them — not a one-size-fits-all sheet.
Track Progress & Hold The Line
You'll follow up weekly, keep an eye on what's working and what isn't, and hold members accountable to the plan they signed up for. That accountability is a huge part of why our members get results.
Coach Sessions Properly
You'll run coach-led sessions and keep clear progress notes on the members you're working with. When someone hits a wall, you'll adjust the plan and keep them moving forward.
Teach Technique That Lasts
This is the big one. You need to coach, instruct, and motivate during a session — with a working knowledge of the body, the movements, and what's right for each person's goals.
Keep Learning & Sharing
Our members rely on us for the whole picture. You'll be given educational resources to study and talk through with members, and we cover plenty of this together in our team meetings too.
What We Need From You
These are the skills you'll need to qualify for the role:
- A genuine grounding in health & fitness — you don't need to have coached professionally, but you should hold a Level 2 Gym Instructor & Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification (or equivalent).
- Solid communication skills. You'll be speaking with our members, who matter a great deal to us. You need to be comfortable in person and on the phone, professional, and able to give clear instruction.
- People skills and personality — you have to genuinely enjoy working with people. This is a supportive, energetic studio, and you'll need to bring that to every session.
Bonus Skills
If you have any of these, your application goes straight to the top of the pile — but if you don't, you should still apply. None of these are mandatory.
- Previous coaching or personal training experience (studio, gym, in-home, etc.)
- Basic nutrition knowledge
- A national certification
- A degree in sport, sports science, biomechanics, physiotherapy, or similar
